Last October of 2016, the new President of Seychelles, Mr. Danny FAURE, opened the 8th Conference of Honorary Consuls of Seychelles, just a few days after his inauguration.
The occasion for the President to call for a strengthening of partnerships between the Seychelles Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of consuls.
Jean-François NOARO, newly appointed Honorary Consul of Seychelles in Monaco, took part in this moment of exchange with the Consuls and Ambassadors, gathered at the Savoy Resort & Spa located in the bay of the Beau Vallon, district of the main island of Seychelles, Mahé.
This year, the theme chosen for the conference was “Strengthening Seychelles’ international commitment”, reflecting the wish of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Mr. Joel MORGAN, to define the actions and initiatives that should govern future actions, in line with the orientations of Seychelles’ diplomacy.
Once every two years, Consuls are reunited in the Seychelles for a few days of conferences, visits and socializing. This year, the conference took place from October 24th to 31st, and participants had the opportunity to (re)discover the Kreol festival.
Established nearly 30 years ago, the event full of rhythm and color is the opportunity for the country’s communities to showcase the “creolité” that makes them so unique.
