Following an invitation from President Wavel Ramkalawan, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, was on an official visit to Seychelles from October 24th to 26th 2022.
For the first two days of his visit, Prince Albert II undertook an expedition to one of the world’s most extraordinary marine and underwater sanctuaries and one of the 50 UNESCO World Heritage site – the Aldabra atoll. This expedition was part of the Monaco Exploration Mission in the Indian Ocean, organised by the Prince Albert of Monaco Foundation and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
The official programme of Prince Albert II started on Wednesday 26 October 2022 with a welcoming ceremony at State House. High-ranking government officials was present at the ceremony. The visit was the opportunity to discuss fundamental elements of the expedition to Aldabra with the President in the presence of relevant Ministers and Seychellois and Monegasques experts in the field.
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II reaffirmed his commitment to helping the Seychelles with research and the importance of the cooperation between the two countries, in areas of mutual interest.
President Ramkalawan and the First Lady hosted Prince Albert II to a Reception at State House before his departure.
